AHEC BRINGS NATIONALLY ACCLAIMED SPEAKER, ROBERT HACKENSON JR., TO ADDRESS TEEN VAPING CRISIS

March 6, 2024 PINCKNEYVILLE, IL – South Central Illinois Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is proud to announce its sponsorship of a compelling community event featuring Robert Hackenson Jr., renowned speaker and founder of Dynamic Influence, addressing the pressing issue of Teen Vaping. This insightful presentation will take place on Monday, March 25th, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm at Pinckneyville Community High School Auxiliary Gym.

Robert Hackenson Jr. is a distinguished expert who skillfully merges his diverse background in magic, hypnosis, business, leadership, psychology, social media, and bullying prevention. Leveraging this unique blend of talents, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing today's youth, particularly in the realm of teenage vaping.

During the presentation, Mr. Hackenson will delve into critical topics, including:

  • Why vaping, tobacco, and marijuana companies are targeting your child
  • Understanding the health effects of vaping on teens
  • Tips on initiating meaningful conversations with your child about vaping
  • Proactive measures parents can take to prevent their child from starting to vape
  • Available resources for parents if their child is already vaping

This event is open to the public, with a special emphasis on inviting teens and their parents or guardians to attend; however, anyone is invited who wants to learn. The venue, Pinckneyville Community High School, is graciously accommodating the community on Monday, March 25th, 2024. Registration is not required.

The event has significant support from local businesses, with several generous contributions for great door prizes. Pinckneyville Community Hospital will be providing light refreshments. Students from both Pinckneyville and DuQuoin High Schools will be offered incentives if they attend. The high schools, along with local businesses, recognize the importance of educating our teens about healthy choices and behaviors.
