Southern Illinois Rehabilitation offers a full range of both outpatient and inpatient therapy services with the goal of helping each patient achieve their full functional potential. This goal is achieved by performing an evaluation that will help our staff develop goals and a treatment plan that is specific to each individual client. Southern Illinois Rehabilitation treats patients of all ages and with all levels of injury, illness, or disability.In order to qualify for therapy services, you need to have a current prescription from a licensed medical provider, and be aware of what therapy coverage your health insurance offers.

Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is performed by physical therapists, who diagnose and treat individuals who have medical problems or other health-related conditions, illnesses, or injuries that limit their abilities to move and perform functional activities as well as they would like in their daily lives. Physical Therapy Assistants assist in carrying out the treatment plan as established by the Therapist.Southern Illinois Rehabilitation blends experience and compassion in evaluating and treating a variety of injuries that include: orthopedic, sports, work-related, neurological, vestibular and chronic conditions and impairments, to name a few.

Southern Illinois Rehabilitation also touts a certified Work Rehab program through WorkWell that includes work hardening and conditioning; pre-work screens; and Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE's) to help individuals safely and productively return to work.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists evaluate and treat patients of all ages with physical, sensory or cognitive dysfunctions which affect their ability to function in their daily lives.Southern Illinois Rehabilitation strives to provide every patient with a personalized experience to meet their needs; allowing them to participate in everyday activities at the most efficient and effective level possible.

The occupational therapy team at Southern Illinois Rehabilitation works with various healthcare personnel to assess the status of the individual requiring treatment The patient's current functioning is evaluated and compared to their prior, or expected, level of function. A plan is tailored specifically for that individual. Increasing upper body physical strength and endurance, as well as development of skills necessary for returning to what the patient feels they need, want and feel is important in their life. In some instances, special assistive devices are encouraged.
Speech Therapy
The Speech & Language pathologist at Southern Illinois Rehabilitation provides expert diagnosis and treatment of speech, cognitive voice and swallowing disorders. Speech Therapy covers a wide array of areas in which skills may need improving or restoring. These areas include:








Speech Therapy also works with Imaging to perform Modified Barium Swallow evaluations.
Our speech pathologist help patients regain independence by developing tailored treatment plans, including trading family members, to assist patients with maximizing communication.
